Briggs and Stratton 030473 Review From Real Customers: The Good
“Used it camping for 5 days, works great. A bit louder then the Honda but for $500 less, this is the one to buy. Starts easy. With no load it makes very low noise. Add a load it revs up and works great. 5 stars from me. Very happy.”
“It’s a bit louder than a Honda, but not much, not enough to really care about. 105cc’s will make some noise. It’s slightly larger in size, but again, not very noticeable. Easy to carry and the controls are simple. A very good choice for the average homeowner/casual user.”
Briggs and Stratton 030473 Review From Real Customers: The Sorta Bad and the Ugly
“The generator is very quiet, provides ample power for a tailgate, and sips gas. After 4 tailgates it suddenly stopped putting out AC power. It was in the middle of the tailgate and very inconvenient. I took it to an authorized Briggs and Stratton service center. They fixed it in one day. It appears a lead had come loose from the DC output to the inverter. The repair was fully covered under the warranty.”
“To follow up on powering my boat’s A/C, I purchased the Yamaha and it did power my boat’s A/C without complaint and even in Eco Mode. I ran the Briggs & Stratton 030473 next to the Yamaha. There was a definite difference in the noise levels between the two. You do get what you pay for. The Yamaha performed better, was lighter, and was also quieter. It was definitely worth the extra money to me. I could hardly hear the Yamaha generator running when inside the boat. I’m leaving the rating at two stars for the B&S. It does work but it doesn’t perform as expected. Lesson learned…”
